The 21th Annual Herbal Affair & Festival

Other food vendors include Greek, Indian, German, Polish, Cajun, Mexican, seafood, barbecue, potatoes, peanuts, blooming onions, produce, baked goods, and ice cream..Beat the traffic & learn something along the way. Park at Charles Page High School, Park & Adams Roads, & hop aboard the Herbal Affair trolleys. Narrators make our city history come alive as you wind through downtown Sand Springs; ample parking is available at the CPHS east parking lot. Trolleys will be running from 9 am to 4 pm.

4th Annual "Art In The Vineyard" at Tidal School Vineyards
(Saturday, April 17th, 2010)

Enjoy fine art, fine wine and fine food in the vineyard at Tidal School Vineyards once again!! The 4th Annual "Art In The Vineyard" art show will feature Oklahoma artists, and new this year, an area adjacent to the vineyard featuring Made In Oklahoma vendors and products. Fine jewelry, wood carvings, basket weaving are just a few of teh many things being offered. At 11 am, Dr. Don Johnson, past President of the Tulsa Rose Society and currently Deputy Director of the South Central District of the American Rose Society, will be planting roses in the vineyard and giving instructions on how to grow roses in Oklahoma. Also Mark Stelljes, Roses, Inc., Tulsa, is delivering the roses and will be available for anyone wishing to visit about roses in Oklahoma. Music begins at 11 am with Shane Bruce followed an afternoon of Big Band era music by Luigui. Food vendors will be located by the vineyard. An "Art Show Special" is being offered next door at Joseph's Fine Foods. The event is FREE. Enjoy a free tour of the historic old schoolhouse built by John D. Rockefeller, free wine tastings of some of Oklahoma's most award winning wines, or just stroll through the vineyard while enjoying a glass of wine and fine art!! Little Green Thumbs
(Saturday, April 17th, 2010)

Join us for a summer filled with gardening fun! Tulsa Garden Center’s Linnaeus Teaching Garden presents their children’s program, “Little Green Thumbs,” a series of six fun and educational children activities beginning on April 17th from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Children from 4-11 may attend, ages 4-7 must be accompanied by an adult. Adventures will include: make and take projects, nature journals, music in the garden, art in the garden, butterfly houses, snacks, plants to enter in 4-H Free Fair, and a Harvest party. Dates and subjects for all the series are: April 17, Seed Sowing, Garden Journals; May 15, Butterflies, Birds and Toads; June 19, Pollinators and Bee Houses; July 17, Vegetables and Herbs; August 21, Art in the Garden; September 18, Harvest party. The first session, Seed sowing, Garden Journals activities will include: spending time planting in the children’s garden plot, decorating Garden Journals, which will be used all summer for recording, documenting and drawing about lessons gleaned in the garden. Each child will be given a plant to transplant and a container to decorate. They may enter their plant in the Tulsa county 4H Free fair later in the summer. Children will also enjoy a nature hunt in the Linnaeus Teaching Garden. This will be the first of six introductions to fun, adventure and excitement of gardening for your child. Pre-registration is required. Cost for the six class series is – one payment of $50-TGC member or $90-non member. Individual class is $10 – TGC member or $15 non-member.
